Singer-songwriter Frank Demian writes songs about unattainable girls, intense love affairs and surfing. Emotional acoustic songs and the occasional murder ballad, inspired by Neil Young, Damien Rice and Kate Bush, are mixed with vibrant pop songs that echo Big Star and The Beach Boys. A solo live concert ranges from the darkest depths of his soul to cheerful being-in-love songs. Frank gave his first concert at a student festival in 1995, followed by playing in Twente in venues like Atak and Metropool. In the meantime, Frank composed hundreds of songs in the intimacy of his room and on his travels. These personal and open-hearted songs had to be heard. In 2015 Frank finally released his debut album “Late in the morning”. The album was produced by Remko Schouten (Pavement, Bettie Serveert, Devendra Banhart). Remko describes Frank Demian's music as “sweet psychopop that grabs you by the throat and then slowly and calmly lets loose...”. After the album release party in OT301 Amsterdam, he toured through the Netherlands and played in Germany, Aruba and Bosnia-Hercegovina. Frank lives in Amsterdam/Diemen and is part of the Amsterdam Songwriters Guild.
